Issue
A virtual event held on a platform that doesn’t provide captioning or live translation to American Sign Language is inaccessible to people with disabilities that affect their hearing.
What to do
Use a platform that provides auto captioning and make sure it’s turned on. Provide a transcript of the event afterward. Consider hiring live Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) transcription or ASL translation.
